Safety and trust at Outvers
Outvers is an adventure marketplace, so trust is the product. We do not own the rafts, the harnesses, or the trails — independent vendors do. Our job is to verify who they are, make the money rules predictable, and notify the right people when something goes wrong. Some safety and verification features may vary by experience and vendor. Each Experience shows what is verified before you book. Where Outvers does not do something — like obtaining your permits or dispatching emergency services — we say so plainly.
Every vendor climbs a three-tier verification ladder
A vendor's KYC tier decides what they are allowed to list and transact. The badge on each Experience card tells you exactly how far a vendor has been verified — verification and responsiveness are tracked separately, so the badge is about identity, not popularity.
Phone verified
An OTP-confirmed phone number at signup. A Phone verified vendor can draft Experiences but cannot publish, accept bookings, or receive payouts. No badge appears on listings at this tier.
Identity verified
Aadhaar eKYC plus a format-validated PAN, with at least one Experience reviewed by an admin. An Identity verified vendor may publish single-day Experiences up to Rs.5,000 per person and 8 participants per slot, and carries the "Identity verified" badge.
Business verified
Identity verification plus a recorded video-call check of premises and equipment, a GSTIN or a below-threshold self-declaration with Udyam registration, and the category-relevant guide certifications (for example ATOAI, RMI, NIM, or APPI). A Business verified vendor has unrestricted listing rights and carries the "Business verified" badge.
The money rules are written down before you pay
- Three cancellation presets, locked at booking
- Every Experience uses one of three named cancellation presets — Flexible, Moderate, or Strict. The preset is locked when you book and shown on the Experience card, the checkout page, and your confirmation. Refund math is a pure function of the preset, your cancellation time, and the booking total — no human review inside the policy window. Read the full breakdown on our cancellation policy page. See the cancellation policy.
- Two-bucket wallet — Outvers credit and Refund balance
- Your Wallet shows two separate buckets. Outvers credit is promotional balance from referrals and offers — spendable on Outvers bookings only. Refund balance is real money: an inside-policy cancellation auto-credits it within minutes, and you can cash it back to your original payment method via a 5–7 working-day Razorpay round-trip. A vendor-cancelled booking is always a full refund regardless of preset.
- Partial pay — a 25% Advance now, the rest at T-24h
- For eligible bookings you pay a 25% Advance at booking time, and the remaining 75% is auto-captured 24 hours before the Experience starts. You see both figures before you commit, so there is no surprise charge.
On the ground: permits surfaced, safety notified
- Required permits, surfaced — not brokered
- Some Experiences sit in permit-gated areas (for example Inner Line Permits or wildlife-area entry). Outvers surfaces each required permit in plain language with a link to the official application and a mandatory acknowledgement before you book. To be clear: Outvers does not obtain permits on your behalf — we tell you exactly what you need and where to get it.
- The safety stack: trusted contact, SOS, and check-in pings
- Experiences that need it — treks, paragliding, scuba, rafting, and high-flagged regions — turn on the safety stack. You record a trusted contact before booking. Where SOS is enabled for an Experience, triggering it notifies your trusted contact, the vendor, and Outvers ops; automated check-in pings ask "arrived safely?" at trip start and end where supported. Each listing shows which safety features apply before you book.
- A notification tool, not an emergency service
- Outvers SOS notifies people; it does not dispatch emergency services and does not promise a response. In a life-threatening emergency, dial 112. If trip location sharing is enabled, routine location is visible only to you and is deleted after the trip ends — we keep no standing surveillance log.
